Artwork Description:
“Black Dog #2” (100 x 100 cm, Acrylic on Canvas, 2025) by Lukman Ariesa portrays a black dog surrounded by colorful natural forms in pink, blue, green, yellow, and other hues. Executed in a naïve and honest style, the work conveys both playfulness and contemplation of humanity’s relationship with nature. The numbers and bone symbols represent calculation and instinct how people often prioritize gain over balance. The black dog stands as a metaphor for loyalty, reminding us to remain faithful to the harmony between humans and the environment.
